Creating a new component type

1. In the Start tab, click on Create.
2. A new component type has been created.
• If no directory is selected in the Component type editor, new component types will appear at the bottom of the directory tree.
• If a directory is selected, the new component type will appear in that directory.
• To create a new directory, enter the directory into the field Hierarchy. The new component type will appear in the entered directory.

3. In the Name field, give the new component type a descriptive name.
4. If you want to use a custom icon for the new component type, you can upload it to the application by clicking on Select -> Open....
5. Check the checkbox Release for use. When this checkbox is cleared, the component type can no longer be used. It will be shown as grey and the name will be displayed in red in the directory tree.
6. In the dropdown menu Default upload type, you have different upload types at your disposal. Here you can configure the Upload type that is suitable for the new component (for example, UNC Network).
7. Adapt the master data of your component when needed by clicking on the button Edit labels in the ribbon.
8. Configure the compare and save settings.
9. Click on Save in the ribbon.
