What's new in octoplant 101.1.0 and 101.1.1 (March 2023)¶
The following table shows the optimizations made in the current octoplant version.
Device integration and versioning¶
We are continuously improving the functionality and the range of supported devices / editors.
- Beckhoff TwinCAT: Optimization of the upload to ensure that empty directories can be compared
- BOSCH Rexroth System 3xxx: Supported features: versioning, upload & compare. Condition: a third-party software is required (see tutorial Bosch Rexroth System 3xxx).
- Cognex In-Sight: Exception handling when uploading Cognex In-Sight with SD cards
- COPA-DATA zenon:
- Support of version 10
- Exception handling when versioning or comparison of projects
- FANUC CNC: Exception handling during comparison
- FTP:
- Optimization of the upload so that recursive symlinks are only followed once
- Exception handling when uploading empty files using FTP
- GE Proficy: Improvement of the upload so that assets can also be saved that do not have object properties
- Rockwell RSLogix 5000: Support of version 34
- Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Control Expert: Support of version 15.1 & 15.2
- Schneider Electric SoMachine: Support of version 4.3
- Siemens Sinumerik ONE: Supported features: versioning, upload & compare.
- Siemens TIA Portal:
- Support of version 18
- Optimization when comparing changes to the outputs of blocks in TIA Portal projects
- Exception handling when comparing the device configuration in version 15.1
- Universal Workflow: The Component type editor Module receives an additional table in which the unpacking of packed projects/archives can be set
Usability/Interface¶
We have adapted the interface for easier and more secure handling and access to information.
- Fixed an error in the web server when sorting (by "job name" or "upload type") in the job list area.
- Adjusted the server display in the client to ensure that the correct server name is displayed directly
- Added additional license information in the Licensing dialog, Activation tab. This makes it easier to assign a system ID to the customer.
System performance/stability¶
Stable and efficient software is the be-all and end-all for us and is improved by the following adjustments:
- Exported data from user management now includes previously deleted users for display in the octoplant hub.
- Increased system stability when displaying certain job results
- Increased system stability when automatically exporting job results. The export does not run into a timeout even with large data volumes.
- Finalization of the database conversion to PostgreSQL so that the Firebird database is no longer used in the server but only in the client.
- Adaptation to the Archive manager to achieve stable outsourcing of data/information with PostgreSQL databases
- Error correction in server synchronization so that the process is successfully executed even with special configurations
- Error correction in the BackupClient so that it no longer crashes in exceptional cases when logging in for the first time.
Miscellaneous¶
To improve your user experience, we have also made changes in other areas.
- BackupClient: synchronization with the Server also possible without administrative rights
- Improvement of the internal debugging output to simplify root cause analysis in case of license problems
- Update of the used third-party libraries in the program directory
- Elimination of the possibility to create an "OWASP CSV Injection" through a CSV export.
- For security reasons, the user information exported by the Server will no longer contain client information in the future.
- Implementation of a new, cyclical data and information exchange (incl. asset information) between server and octoplant hub
