Term: Standard library¶
In many areas of automated production, applications are created on the basis of libraries with reusable blocks, also known as standard libraries. The use of libraries with reusable blocks contributes to cost-effective and consistent programming.
However, the blocks used in these libraries do not always remain the same. There are new developments and enhancements to the products. Bug fixes, program enhancements and improvements are just some of the reasons why blocks have to be changed.
In octoplant, the LibraryManagement application can be used to track and manage such changes to blocks.
