Security best practices - octoplant hub (on-prem)¶

The octoplant hub is typically installed on a separate computer within the customer network from the octoplant server. Many of the general server recommendations mentioned above should also be applied to the computer running the octoplant hub.

• Do not expose the octoplant hub to the internet

  • Though the octoplant hub is a web-based application, it was built to be run within a company network. If a user needs access to the octoplant hub from outside the company network, a VPN should be used to get into the internal company network. Then the user could access the octoplant hub from there.

• Use a secure SMTP-server (username/password and encrypted)
