Clients
SmartUpdate
When a client running an older version of octoplant connects to the server, it is automatically updated. This feature, known as SmartUpdate, ensures that clients stay up to date. You can deactivate SmartUpdate using the checkbox in this section, for example, if you want to use an MSI package or distribute the updates via an internal software management. In this case, clients have to be updated manually or using an MSI package.
New in octoplant
By default, the What's New in octoplant page from the offline help appears the first time octoplant is launched after an installation or update. If you deactivate the Show "New in octoplant" on first launch of a new release checkbox, the page will not be displayed after the next update.
When closing the UserClient
If you activate this checkbox, all working directories on the clients are automatically deleted when closing the UserClient.
Warnings
Here you can edit the warnings that are generated when opening the editor without editing rights (e.g. if the user only has read rights) and when checking out components with local changes (e.g. if there is a risk of data loss due to overwriting).
Automatic timeout for AdminClient modules
Here you can select in a dropdown menu after how many minutes without user activity a module of the AdminClient is automatically closed. Unsaved changes are lost when the module is closed. The Off value specifies that modules are not closed automatically.
Info
The timeout does not apply to the Event Log and System dashboard modules.
Custom information to be shown in the clients
In this field, you can specify a section of text formatted in HTML that is displayed at the top right of the interface of the individual clients. This can be, for example, a copyright notice or the display of the confidentiality level.
The text section can contain images and links.
Info
Links may not be opened directly from the application, but only copied to the clipboard by the user and then pasted into the address field of a browser, for example.
Please note the following when specifying images:
- Images can only be specified as a Base64-encoded string. Information on creating a Base64-encoded string from an image can be found, for example, at https://www.base64decode.org/. Example of a Base64-encoded image:
