Maintenance mode module¶
Warning
The Maintenance mode module should not be used for data backup in octoplant, as this can lead to an inconsistent/corrupt server archive.
The procedure for data backup is described in the tutorial Data backup and data recovery.
While the server is in Maintenance mode, write access (= Check-In) to the server archive is prevented, but read access (= Check-Out) is still possible.
The system is automatically switched to Maintenance mode if the required minimum amount of free storage space is reached. This serves to prevent problems with Windows or the database system.
Proceed as follows to manually set the server to Maintenance mode:
- Start the AdminClient and click on the Maintenance mode module.
- A security prompt is displayed. Confirm this with Yes.
- The following is displayed in the title bar of the AdminClient: AdminClient [In Maintenance mode]. The Maintenance mode module is highlighted in blue, all modules except System dashboard and Event Log are grayed out and are inactive.
