Configuring jobs for component upload¶

The component on the server on which the job is created should have the same component type as the component on the target server. User-defined component types that are not known on both servers involved must be exported and imported in this case if necessary.
Jobs for the component upload are configured in the AdminClient in the Jobs module.
- In the Project tree, select the component for which the job is to be created.
- Click on the Create button in the menu bar or drag and drop the component into the Jobs area.

Select the upload type versiondog component from the Upload type dropdown menu.
In the versiondog component settings section, make the following settings:

In the vdServerArchive field, enter the network share of the server from which data is to be downloaded. The network share is specified in the format
\\IP address\Server Archive
(e.g.\\10.0.50.103\vdServerArchive
). - Enter the login information for the server in the User and Password fields.
- The local component directory on the server is assumed by default. This means that the same directory is used on the target server as on the local server on which the job is created. Activate the checkbox to use a User-defined directory.
- If you use a user-defined directory, enter the path to the directory in the Component directory field.

To synchronize the component with the version on the target server, it can be versioned.
