EasyClient

You can use the EasyClient to perform the basic functions of octoplant:

  • Create components or check them out from the server
  • Edit the project data of the components
  • Create new versions of the components and check them back in on the server.

The EasyClient user interface guides you intuitively through these work steps.

All functions that you can perform with the EasyClient are also available to you in the UserClient. The UserClient also offers many other functions, such as comparison options for versions, display of job results, quicksaves, tagging of components, etc. The advantage of the EasyClient is that it is limited to the basic functions through which you as a user are guided by the application.

You can use the Icon_vd_user_256.png button in the top right-hand corner of the user interface to switch directly to the UserClient without having to login again.

The octoplant clients are automatically closed by default in the following cases:

  • If there is no user activity for 2 hours.
  • If the client has been open for 48 hours, regardless of whether there is user activity during that time.
  • If the VDog MasterService is restarted while the client is open.

This is not a technical problem. To use the client again, you simply need to login again.
