Check out components

The Check-Out step is automatically selected when you choose a component that exists only on the server.

In the Details area:

  • Icon error indicates the component is not available locally.
  • Icon Different indicates local and server versions differ.

Check-out requires an active server connection, i.e. the Icon Server document button above the Project tree is activated.

Procedure

  1. Select the component in the Project tree.

    If the component is not yet available locally, the Check-Out view is displayed directly in the workspace. If the component is already available locally and you only want to check out a current version, switch manually to the Check-Out view.

  2. Select the Check-Out button in the center or press Ctrl+O.

    The Check-Out dialog shows progress and closes when the check-out is complete.

After completion, the component appears in black in the Project tree, and the view switches to Edit.
