Copying versions to a directory

Check out the latest or an older version by clicking the Copy version to directory button. It copies the selected version to the component's working directory or an empty directory of your choice.

  1. Open the Home tab. Select a component in the Project tree.
  2. In the Change history, select the version that you want to copy. It does not matter whether the version is available locally or not, as the version is copied from the server archive.
  3. Click the Copy version to directory button.

  4. The Copy version to directory dialog is then displayed, in which the working directory of the component is preselected as the target directory.

    1. If you select the working directory as the target directory and it is empty, the version is copied directly to the directory.

    2. If the working directory is not empty, you have the following options:

      • Delete contents then copy: The data in the working directory is deleted and then the files from the selected version are inserted.
      • Replace and copy: The data in the working directory is replaced with the files from the selected version and new available files are inserted.

      The Replace and copy function behaves differently depending on the data type. Please refer to the corresponding device-specific tutorial for more information.

    3. Select another directory using the Browse... button. You can only select empty directories as the destination.

  5. Select Next to continue the process.
