Copying a backup to a directory

Job results can be copied to a directory and used for disaster recovery of devices.

  1. In the Project tree, select the component from which you want to copy a backup.
  2. In the Component details area of the component, click on the Jobs tab.
  3. In the Job results area below, right-click on the backup and select Copy backup to directory in the context menu.
  4. In the Copy backup to directory dialog, enter a Target directory and click on Next.
  5. You then have the following options:

Figure: Copy backup to directory dialog

    • Delete contents then copy: If there is a file in the folder, it will be deleted first. All files in the backup will then be copied.
    • Replace and copy: If there are files in the target directory with the same names as in the backup, these are replaced. Files that are not yet available in the target directory are copied.

      Info

The functions Delete contents then copy and Replace and copy behave differently depending on the device. For more information about these functions in relation to your device type, see the relevant documentation under Device support

    • Select Exit to cancel the process.

  6. If you select the Show target directory in file manager checkbox in the Successfully copied dialog, the copied files are displayed in the specified directory. Select Close.

  7. The job results are now located in the specified target directory and can be used, for example, for restoration.
