Delete items on the server

Deleted server versions cannot be restored

Once a component is deleted on the server, it cannot be checked in again or restored using Copy version to directory.

To delete directories, components or individual versions on the server, there are basically two options.

Delete directories or components

  1. In the Project tree, select a directory or component that you want to delete on the server.
  2. In the menu bar on the Extras tab, select Delete element on the server.
  3. In the Delete directory/component on the server dialog, select whether you also want to delete the component or components of the directory locally, and in this case also delete the working directories of the components.
  4. Select Delete to confirm.

The directory or component will be deleted on the server.

Delete individual versions of components

This functionality is only available if the checkbox Enable "Delete version on server" has been activated with the corresponding access rights in the AdminClient in the Global settings module under Components.

  1. In the Project tree, select a component for which several versions exist.

    Info

    The base version and the latest version of a component cannot be deleted.

  2. In the Change history area, select the version of the component that you want to delete.

  3. In the menu bar on the Extras tab, select Delete version on server.
  4. In the Delete version on server dialog, the selected version is displayed. Enter a comment explaining why you are deleting this version on the server.
  5. Select Delete to confirm.

The selected version is deleted from the server.
