Creating a template for the CSV file

The CSV file that is imported with the Easy Asset Integrator does not have to be created as an empty file and filled manually. The system offers various options for templates that can be easily created. The lines that have been imported using a template can then be adjusted as required in the dialog itself or in the file.

If no file has yet been imported with the Easy Asset Integrator, a template can be created with the sample data or with all or only selected components in the system's current Project tree. The three options are available using the Create template with example data button or the corresponding arrow in the menu bar.

Creating template with sample data

A template with sample data can always be created, regardless of whether the server system was installed with or without sample data.

  1. Select the Create template with example data button.
  2. A directory dialog opens in which you can select a name and the storage location for the newly created CSV file.
  3. Select Save.
  4. A CSV file with the sample data is created.

Creating template with all components from the current Project tree

This may take a long time if you have a large server archive. If you have more than a thousand components, we recommend creating a template with only selected components.

  1. Click on the arrow next to the Create template with example data button and select Create template with all components from the dropdown menu.
  2. A directory dialog opens in which you can select a name and the storage location for the newly created CSV file.
  3. Select Save.
  4. A CSV file with all components of the current Project tree is created.

  1. Click on the arrow next to the Create template with example data button and select Create template with selected components from the dropdown menu.

  2. The Choose path dialog opens. The directory structure of your Project tree with the components that are available on the server is displayed here.

  3. Select a component or a directory from which you want to create the template for import.

  4. Select OK.
  5. A directory dialog opens in which you can select a name and the storage location for the newly created CSV file.
  6. Select Save.
  7. A CSV file with the selected components is created.

If you have already imported a manually created file or a template and have corrected the values in the Easy Asset Integrator dialog or in the file itself, you can save it using the Save or Save as button and use it as a template for the next, perhaps similar, import.
