Additional local storage location for fast recovery
In addition to the configured data storage of the image, you can also store it locally on the device from which the image was created. This has the advantage during restoration that the image does not have to be copied via a network, but can be accessed directly.
Info
Local data storage should only be activated if at least 2 hard disks are available on the device or a removable disk is available. This can be used, for example, to back up an image of hard disk C: to hard disk D:. A USB drive can also be selected as the local storage location.
The local storage location can be specified in the job configuration. Proceed as follows:
- Activate the Local storage enabled checkbox.
- Click in the Local storage path field.
- The Drive selection dialog opens. Here you can select the hard disk or USB drive on which the image is to be saved. The directory in which the image is saved on the selected hard disk or drive is always
AUVESY Image Service Backups. Example: If you specify C: as the hard disk, the image is stored in the directoryC:/AUVESY Image Service Backups/. - Under Number of local backups retained (rollover), enter the number of images that are kept locally. If the number is reached, the new image overwrites the oldest one.
