Edit components

The Project Integrator tool detects component types in two phases:

  1. File pattern matching

    Detects known file extensions such as *.s7p, *.hmi.

  2. File signature analysis

    Analyzes file contents when extensions are insufficient.

After detection, each component shows one of the following statuses:

  • ✓ Finished: High-confidence match
  • ⚠ Warning: Multiple possible matches
  • ? Unknown: No suitable match found

The Component details section shows:

  • Selected component type
  • Alternative compatible component types
  • Probability or confidence level

Tip

If a component is incorrectly detected, you can select an alternative type from the Compatible Component Types list.

Edit component details

Select any node in the Project Tree View to access its editable properties:

  • Component name

    Must not be empty. Modify directly in the field.

  • Component type

    Change or remove the current type.

    Removing a parent type also clears types from all children.

  • Job creation

    Enable to automatically create a job using default upload‑type settings.

You can edit multiple components at the same time by selecting them together in the tree view.
