Creating jobs¶
- Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
- Select an ABB IRC5 component in the Project tree.
- Click on the Create button in the menu bar or drag-and-drop the component into the Jobs area.
- Check that the upload type ABB Robotics is displayed in the Job configuration area.
- Configure the general sections General, Notification, Upload and compare and Create a version automatically after job run. The sections Notification and Create a version automatically after job run are only displayed if the settings required for this have been made. If no project data has been versioned in the component, select Prev. backup <-> Backup under Upload and compare under compare policy.

Configure the ABB Robotics settings section:
- Select a Connection type.
- For jobs with the ABB Robotics PC SDK connection type, a new backup is created when the job is executed and stored on the server.
- For jobs with the FTP connection type, the latest backup available on the robot is stored on the server.
- For Device, enter the IP address or the name of the robot for which the job is being executed.
- In the User and Password fields, enter the login information with which octoplant logs in to execute the job on the robot.

Implement the following settings if you have selected ABB Robotics PC SDK as the connection type:
- Use the Retain Backup checkbox to specify whether you want to keep backups on the robot.

For Path, enter the subdirectory in which the robot stores the backups.

You can specify the subdirectory directly on the robot. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.

In the Count field, enter how many backups you want to keep. The number 1 to 5 is possible.

Implement the following settings if you have selected FTP as the connection type:
- Enter the port via which octoplant accesses the robot.
- Determine whether Use FTP passive mode is activated.
- For Subdirectory, enter the subdirectory in which the robot stores the backups.
- In Advanced, enter the Sleep between packets and the Maximum size of data packets (in KB). You can also select whether to Upload only when timestamp is different (reduces network load).

- Select a Connection type.

Save the job and execute it.
