Creating jobs

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. In the Project tree, select the component for which you want to create a job.
  3. Click on the Create button in the menu bar or drag and drop the component into the Jobs area.
  4. Check whether the upload type is displayed in the Job configuration section.
  5. Check whether the desired settings have been made in the following sections: General, Notification, Upload and compare and Create a version automatically after job run. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are only displayed if the required settings have been made.
  6. Make the following settings in the Bosch Rexroth Tightening System (System 3xx) section:
    1. In the Device field, enter the name or IP address of the device.
    2. In the Location of the Sys3xxDMCon service field, enter the IP address of the computer on which the Windows service Sys3xxDMCon is running. If the service is running on the same computer as the application Sys3xxBackupClient.exe and the octoplant server, enter the value localhost here.
    3. Enter the path to the file Sys3xxBackupClient.exe in the field storage location of Location of the BackupClient. The application Sys3xxBackupClient.exe performs the actual backup, i.e. copying the files from the device to the local directory.
    4. If errors occur during the execution of the job, you can use the checkbox Windows Event Tracing Log (ETWTrace.log) to enable the software used to write a log file ETWTrace.log with additional information that can be used for troubleshooting.
  7. Optional: You can use the Advanced expert settings checkbox to create your own configuration file for the Sys3xxBackupClient for test purposes. A description of this can be found in the documentation by Haller and Erne. Note that the settings in the other fields of the section Bosch Rexroth Tightening System (System 3xx) are given priority over the entries in the configuration file. This means that settings that are already contained in the fields no longer need to be listed in the configuration file, as they will never overwrite the contents of the fields if the values differ.
  8. In the File specifications and compare settings section, you can customize the comparison for the job to exclude certain lines from the comparison as a matter of principle. For Bosch Rexroth Tightening system components, these are the line "LAST_CHANGE" in CRC files and the entry "Firmware" in TXT files.

    1. Activate the Enable custom configuration for this job checkbox and click on Edit.
    2. The Settings for backup files dialog opens.
    3. Select the line with the desired file type and click on Comparison configuration.
    4. The Comparison configuration dialog opens.
    5. In the dialog, enter a regular expression with the corresponding string whose line you want to exclude from the comparison. Figure: Configure Comparison dialog, CRC files

  9. Save the job and click on Execute selected jobs once to test it.
