Creating jobs for In-Sight SDK

Prerequisites

To ensure that differences are not displayed each time the job is executed, Cognex In-Sight jobs (files) must first be saved by the corresponding image processing sensor.

To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Load the Cognex In-Sight job (file) onto the sensor.
  2. In the System menu, click Save.

  3. In the Save dialog, select the sensors to be saved.

  4. The files of the selected sensors are now backed up. Copy the files to the component and check in the new version.

To configure jobs for Cognex In-Sight SDK projects

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. Select your Cognex In-Sight component in the Project tree.
  3. Click on the Create button or drag and drop the component into the Jobs area.

    Info

If you have created a component without a base version and it does not contain any project data, a error message will be displayed to indicate this. However, you can still create the job and save the device data.

  4. Check whether the Cognex Sensors upload type is displayed in the Job configuration area.

  5. Configure the general sections General, Notification, Upload and compare and Create a version automatically after job run. The sections Notification and Create a version automatically after job run are only displayed if the settings required for this have been made.
  6. Configure the settings in the Cognex Sensors Settings section:
    1. Select the In-Sight (SDK) device class in the Type dropdown menu.
    2. Enter the IP address or the name of the device in the Device field.
    3. Enter the login data for the device in the User and Password fields.
    4. Enter a file name in the Save current job as field.
    5. In the Exclude files/directories field, you have the option of excluding files or directories from the job configuration. (Multiple files can be separated by a ";" and it is possible to use the characters "*", "?" as placeholders).

The generated backup is identical to the project created by Cognex In-Sight. The result is suitable for a detailed comparison, further processing and disaster recovery.

Info

You can implement further settings for jobs of this upload type in the AdminClient in the Global settings dialog and by using the INI files.
