Creating components for Drive Snapshot

In octoplant, images are created using jobs. To be able to create a job for creating images, a component of the component type DriveSnapShot must first be created.

To create a component, proceed as follows:

  1. Create a directory in the UserClient, for example with the name Images. Individual steps
    1. In the Project tree, navigate to the location where you want to create the new directory.
    2. Right-click and select New directory in the context menu.
    3. Enter a name for the new directory, for example Images, and press the ENTER key. The directory is created.
  2. In the directory created, create a component based on the component type DriveSnapShot, for example with the name PC Shop Floor Area 1 (the component type DriveSnapShot can be found in the category PC-Images). Individual steps
    1. Select the created directory in the Project tree. In the example case, select the Images directory.
    2. Right-click on the selected directory and select New component from the context menu. The Create new component dialog is displayed.
    3. In the Create new component dialog, make the following settings:
      • Under Component type, expand the Images directory and select the component type Drive Snapshot.
      • Under Component paths, specify the component name. In the example case, accept the path specification for the component directory with the exception of the last part, which designates the component name. Instead of the suggested component name, enter PC Shop Floor Area 1.
    4. Click on the Create component button. The component is created and the dialog Create component is closed.

  3. Check in the component without base version. Individual steps

    1. Select the created component in the Project tree. In the example case, select Check-In. The Check-In dialog is displayed.
    2. The Check-In dialog is displayed for the component selected in the Project tree under Selected components. Accept the settings and click on the Check-In and close. The copying process is started and the dialog is closed after successful completion of the copying process.
