Configuring comparisons

Info

The comparator can only be configured if the component contains project data.

Excluding lines from a comparison

With FANUC robot components, you can exclude certain lines from the comparison. Proceed as follows:

  1. Start the UserClient.
  2. Select the FANUC robot component that you want to customize.
  3. Select the Edit tab in the menu bar or right-click the component and from the context menu, select Edit component configuration.
  4. In the Component configuration dialog, select Comparator configuration....
  5. In the Comparison configuration dialog, if there are several projects in a component, select the corresponding project from the dropdown menu.
  6. Under Exclude lines from comparison, enter the rows that you want to exclude. The use of placeholders is possible.
  7. Select OK to confirm.
  8. In the Component configuration dialog, select Apply to save the changes.

Excluding file types from a comparison

In Job configuration, you can also exclude certain file types from the comparison to prevent differences from being detected each time the job is executed. These settings only apply to the job, or which they were made. The compare settings can be applied to other jobs in the Jobs list using drag and drop.

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. Create a job for your FANUC Robot component.
  3. Configure the File specifications and compare settings section.

    1. Select the Enable custom configuration for this job checkbox.
To customize the comparator configuration, select Edit.
    2. Use the Add and Remove buttons to define which files to include or exclude:

      1. In the Compare these files table, list all files you want to compare.
      2. In the Do not compare these files table, list all files you want to exclude from comparison.

        Info

Placeholders can be used. The *.cfg entry affects all files with the file extension CFG.

    3. From the dropdown in the Compare these files table, choose the comparator to use for each file type.

    4. In both tables, select whether the entry in this line should also apply to files in subdirectories.
    5. If this is available for the corresponding comparator, make further settings using the Configure comparator button.
    6. Specify whether changes should be recognized based on the timestamp or the checksum.
    7. Under Settings for saving for Ignore empty directories, specify whether empty directories on the device should be saved in the backup.
    8. Under Compression factor:, select the compression factor for the backup. With lower compression factors, less time is required to compress the backup. This requires more storage space on the server.
    9. Select OK to close the dialog.
