Creating jobs
Info
To execute a job, the corresponding outgoing and incoming ports must be enabled on the server, switch and all network devices. By default, these are the ports of the SSH connection and the TFTP connection.
The ports via which a connection is established can be changed in Job configuration. If TFTP is used, only one switch can be accessed at a time. If it is necessary to backup several switches at the same time, you must set a different TFTP port for each switch and also increase the maximum number of parallel uploads in the AdminClient via the INI files menu item.
To create jobs for Hirschmann switches
- Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
- Select your Hirschmann Switch component in the Project tree.
- Click on the Create button in the ribbon or drag and drop the component into the Jobs area.
- Check whether the upload type Switches is displayed in the Job configuration section.
- Configure the general sections General, Notification, Upload and compare and Create a version automatically after job run. The sections Notification and Create a version automatically after job run are only displayed if the settings required for this have been made.
Info
If no project data has been versioned in the component, select the Previous backup <-> Backup: under Upload and compare.
- Configure the Switch settings section
- Under Device, enter the IP address or the name of the device to be accessed by the job.
- Under Users, enter the user name under which the device is to be accessed.
- Under Password, enter the password for the user name entered.
- Under Type, Hirschmann is displayed for you to select.
- Under Firmware, select the options Classic, HiOS, HiSecOS or ONE for the specific upload of the respective series or leave the default function Auto, which automatically recognizes how the upload should be carried out.
- Under Protocol, select the protocol (Telnet or SSH).
- Under Port, enter the outgoing port via which the connection to the device is to be established. The default value is 22.
- Under TFTP Server IP port, enter the incoming port via which data is to be received by the device. The default value is 69.
- If you have selected HiOS, HiSecOs or ONE, the text field Name of the configuration file appears. Enter the name under which the configuration file is to be saved here.
- Save the job and execute it.
Info
The compare settings only apply to the job for which they were made. The compare settings can be applied to other jobs in the Jobs list using drag and drop.
Info
You can implement further settings for jobs of this upload type in the AdminClient in the Global settings dialog.
