Creating jobs

The standard connections in the network are the SSH connection and the TFTP connection.

You can manage the ports for establishing the connection in the Job configuration. The TFTP port can only be used to access one switch at a time. If several switches are to be backed up at the same time, you must set a different TFTP port for each switch. Here it is important that you increase the maximum number of parallel uploads.

Creating jobs for Phoenix Contact MGUARD routers

  1. Start the AdminClient.
  2. Open the Jobs module.
  3. Select the desired MGUARD switch component in the Project tree.
  4. Create a job with the upload type Switches and configure the general sections General and Upload and compare.

    If no project data has been versioned in the component, select the Previous backup <-> Backup option under Upload and compare, under Compare policy.

  5. Configure the Switch settings section:

    The default value is 23 for TFTP and 22 for SSH.

    1. For Device, enter the IP address or the name of the device to be accessed by the job.
    2. For User, enter the user name under which the device is to be accessed.
    3. For Password, enter the password for the user name entered.
    4. For Type, select mGuard.
    5. For Port, enter the outgoing port via which the connection to the device is to be established.
  6. If necessary, configure the File specifications and compare settings section by clicking on Enable custom configuration for this job.

  7. Save the job and execute it.
