Creating a project from a backup¶
RSLogix 5 creates its own backups and revision files. Normally, octoplant is configured to ignore these files during comparison and when creating new versions (i.e. these backups are not included in the versioned files). If you do NOT want these backup files to be ignored, you can back up the project file of an RSLogix 5 project AND the backup created by RSLogix 5. To archive the RSLogix 5 backups, you need to change your RSLogix 5 component type so that the _BAK???.rsp files are backed up.
Info
This change will be applied to all other components of this type in your project. The size of your Archive will grow rapidly with each new change and may cause disk space problems on your Server.
To change your RSLogix 5 component type:
- Open the AdminClient.
- Click on the Component type editor module.
- Go to Rockwell in the Project tree and select the component type RSLogix5.
- Select the line with _BAK???.rsp under Ignore these files. Click on it with the right mouse button and select Delete row.
Info
ALTERNATIVE: If you only want to add a previous backup to a version or data backup, you must rename the _BAK???.* file in your project folder. If you change or remove the BAK part of the file name, the file will no longer be ignored; it will be added to the version and backed up by octoplant.
