Setting up an upload

The upload from the ControlLogix Controller cannot work if the VDog MasterService is running under the user Local System. This service must be run under the administrator account or an account with administrative rights.

To check which account the VDog MasterService is running under and how to change it:

  1. Open the Windows Services application.
    • Click the Windows Start button > Control panel > Administrative tools and open Services or
    • Press Win + R and type services.msc in the field.
  2. Locate the VDog MasterService and check which account it is running under (if it is running under Local system, the upload may not work).

  3. To change the account, right-click on VDog MasterService and select Properties.

  4. Open the Login tab under Login to: and select the This account option:

  5. Enter the name and password for the account.

  6. Click on OK.
  7. In the Services dialog, right-click on VDog MasterService and then click on Restart to run the service with the new settings.
  8. Restart the backup job.
