Integrating existing S7 multiprojects¶

If your octoplant system supports S7 multiprojects, you can integrate existing S7 multiprojects that are used with programmable logic controllers of the SIMATIC S7 V5.1 to V5.7 series and with the process control system SIMATIC PCS 7 V5 to V9.

There are various options for integrating an S7 multiproject. This tutorial describes two options for integrating an existing S7 multiproject.

• Integrating existing S7 multiprojects directly.

octoplant and S7 multiprojects¶

For the management of several S7 multiprojects, it is recommended to create a separate directory for each S7 multiproject in octoplant. This makes it easier to manage the S7 multiprojects.

Store the S7 multiproject in its own component. Also save the S7 projects contained in the S7 multiproject in a separate component. Proceed in exactly the same way with the libraries linked in the S7 project. Save WinCC projects and WinCC flexible projects in the components of the same name in the multiproject.

If the contents of an S7 multiproject are distributed across several components, you can check out, edit and version each individual component of the S7 multiproject.
