SINUMERIK Operate plugin

To integrate SINUMERIK Operate projects into octoplant, the SINUMERIK operate plugin must be installed on the HMI. The latest version of the plugin can be found in the octoplant setup in the subdirectory Tools/Sinumerik/Operate.

The version of the plugin must match the SINUMERIK Operate version. Different versions are not compatible with each other.

You have two options for reading out the correct SINUMERIK Operate version. The first 3 numbers of the version are relevant for the installation (XX.XX.XX).

Reading out the SINUMERIK Operate Version via the HMI

  1. Click on the menu select button. The menu opens.
  2. Select the diagnosis entry.
  3. Click on the version button. The version data dialog opens.

  4. Select the system software NCU line and click details.

  5. The SINUMERIK operate version (XX.XX.XX) is displayed in a separate line.

  6. If the version numbers of the PCU and the NCU differ, use the version number of the PCU.

Reading the SINUMERIK Operate version from the version.xml file

In the file system, you can find the version in the file version.xml in the attribute section SINUMERIK Operate in the tag version.

The file version.xml is located:

  • on the NCU in the directory \card\siemens\sinumerik\hmi
  • on the PCU in the directory {Drive}:\{Installation directory}\Siemens\MotionControl\Siemens
