Creating jobs

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. Select a Sinumerik 840D component in the Project tree.
  3. Click on the Create button in the ribbon or drag and drop the component into the Jobs area.
  4. Check whether the SINUMERIK Operate upload type is displayed in the Job configuration area.
  5. Configure the general sections General, Notification, Upload and compare and Create a version automatically after job run. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are only displayed if the necessary settings have been made. If no project data has been versioned in the component, select Previous backup <-> Backup: under Upload compare under Compare policy.

    Info

If there are problems with the execution of the plugin, the upload may fail. Under job execution by schedule for this case, specify in the General section the setting On error: when and how often the job execution should be repeated.

  6. To configure which files are to be compared during job execution (e.g. if your SINUMERIK component contains an S7 project), activate the checkbox Enable configuration of job-specific compare in the Upload compare section.

    1. Click on Comparison configuration for SINUMERIK 840D and define rules for handling Files and Variables.

      Figure: Comparison configuration dialog

      • Enter the file for which you want to make changes.
      • Enter the variables that are not to be taken into account during comparison. The use of placeholders is possible.
      • If your 840D component contains an S7 project and you want to compare this separately, you must exclude the folder /PLC/* from the comparison.
  7. Click Comparison configuration for SIMATIC S7 and specify which blocks should not be compared.

    Info

This button is only available if you have activated the PLC and With S7 comparison checkboxes under Backup.

  8. Configure the SINUMERIK Operate settings section.

    1. Under Name of the archive, enter the name of the archive that the job is to create. The file extension of the archive must be .ARC. If there is a version of the archive in the component that is to be compared with the job result, both archives must have the same name. A serial commissioning archive (SIBN archive) is always created when the job is executed.
    2. For Device, enter the name or IP address of the HMI for which the job is to be executed.
    3. For Port, select the port through which octoplant is to communicate with the plugin. This must correspond to the port of the plugin.
  9. Configure the Backup section.

Figure: Job configuration, backup and backup conditions sections

    1. Activate NC so that NC data is also backed up in the SIBN archive
    2. Activate With compensation data to ensure that compensation data is also backed up in the SIBN archive.

      Info

We recommend always backing up the compensation data together with the NC data. If there is collision model data on the memory card of the controller, this should also be saved with the NC data.

    3. Activate Loadable compile cycles so that compiled cycles are also saved in the SIBN archive.

    4. Activate PLC so that S7 data is also saved in the SIBN archive.

      1. Activate With S7 comparison to ensure that the S7 data is compared in the archive.
This requires that a suitable S7 project has been versioned in the Sinumerik component and that the folder /PLC/* has been excluded in the comparator configuration for SINUMERIK 840D.
      2. Under S7 program path, enter the path to the S7 program.
      3. Under CPU Rack, select the rack in which the S7 CPU is installed.

        Info

This information must match for the online project and the versioned offline project.

      4. Under CPU slot:, select the slot in which the S7 CPU is installed.

        Info

This information must match for the online project and the versioned offline project.

    5. Activate Drive data to ensure that the drive data is also saved in the SIBN archive.

    6. Activate HMI so that the HMI data is also saved in the SIBN archive.

      Info

This data can be very large. We therefore recommend backing up this data with a separate job.

    7. Activate Data on the flashcard.

If the HMI is running on the NCU, you can back up data from the flash card:

To ensure that the contents of the flash card are also backed up, enter the paths on the flash card, which are to be backed up. Example: Path to the compile cycles /Card/oem/sinumerik/data/cc. Different paths can be separated by a semicolon.

If the HMI is running on a PCU, you can only back up data from the file system of the HMI:

To back up the contents of the folders, enter the paths of the file system that are to be backed up.

  10. Configure the section Backup conditions section.

Figure: Job configuration, backup and backup conditions sections

    • Activate All channels in 'Reset'. This will ensure that a warning is displayed in the job results if not all channels were in reset when the job was executed.
    • Activate No tool in spindle. This will ensure that a warning is displayed in the job results if a tool was in the spindle when the job was executed.
  11. Save the job and execute it.

    Info

The comparator settings only apply to the job for which they were made. The comparator settings can be applied to other jobs in the Jobs list using drag-and-drop.

Info

You can implement further settings for jobs of this upload type in the AdminClient in the Global settings dialog.
