Creating Jobs for SINUMERIK 840D HMI Advanced¶

1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
2. Select a Sinumerik840D component in the Project tree.
3. Click on the Create button in the menu bar or drag-and-drop the component into the Jobs area.
4. Check whether the upload type Sinumerik840D is displayed in the Job configuration area.

5. Configure the general sections General, Notification, Upload and compare and Create a version automatically after job run. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are only displayed if the necessary settings have been made. Activate the Enable configuration of job-specific compare checkbox if you want to exclude files and variables from the comparison and/or check their existence. This allows you to customize the comparison of the files NC.ARC, DP.ARC and CC.ARC.

   Info

   For the file NC.ARC, configure the exclusion of the file NC\INITIAL.INI to avoid the changes caused by the current values during the comparison. The file exclusion can be done in two ways:

   • Exclusion of the complete file NC\INITIAL.INI by adding 'INITIAL' to the list of excluded files in Comparison configuration.

   • Exclusion of individual parts of the file INITIAL.INI (example: *$MA_ACT* and/or *$MN_POVCTRL*)

   If you are working with an empty SINUMERIK component for which there is not yet a base version, select the Compare policy Previous backup <-> Backup under Upload and compare.

6. Configure the SINUMERIK 840D settings section.

   1. Under Project, select the NC.ARC archive that the job is to back up.
   2. Under Device type, select the Powerline value.
   3. Under Access path, select the connection path through which octoplant communicates with the SINUMERIK controller. The Access path details changes according to the selected access path. Example:

7. Configure the Backup section.

   

   Warning

   If the following 3 options are selected together, an emergency stop or machine damage is possible.

   • The Contents of the backup Online data only.
   • The checkbox forCreate backup only if the following conditions are met is set.
   • If the option Tool in spindle allowed if alarm is suppressed is selected and the alarm 22070 is not suppressed.

   Info

   A backup for a disaster recovery is only possible with the following settings:

   • The Contents of the backup Online data only.
   • The checkbox for Create backup only if the following conditions are met is set.
   • The checkbox for Condition 1: All channels in 'Reset' is set. And all channels are in reset.
   • For Condition 2: Tool in spindle, the No tool in spindle option is selected. And there is no tool in the spindle.

   1. Activate Create SIBN file for PLC to ensure that the PLC data is also saved in the SIBN archive.

      We recommend that you always save the compensation data together with the NC data. If there is collision model data on the memory card of the controller, this should also be backed up together with the NC data.

   2. Activate With compensation data if you also want to back it up.

   3. Under Contents of the backup, you have three options to choose from for backing up the online and offline data.

      1. By using the Online data only option, only data from the controller is backed up.

         Info

         No backup is created if the SINUMERIK controller accesses files.

      2. The Merge online and offline data option means: If the controller accesses files, this data is copied from the version (offline data) to the backup. The backup does not consist 100% of data from the controller.

      3. The option Merge Merge if conditions are not met means: If the Create backup only if the following conditions are met checkbox is set and the conditions selected below are not met, the data from the version (offline data) is copied to the backup.
      4. The Create backup only if the following conditions are met checkbox is activated in advance and fulfills two conditions.
         • Condition 1: All channels in 'Reset': If not all channels on the Controller are in reset, the job issues the error message that not all channels are in reset.
         • Condition 2: Tool in spindle you have the choice: without/with tool in spindle: No tool in spindle / Tool in spindle allowed if alarm is suppressed / Ignore tool in spindle.

8. In the Advanced section, you can activate SIMATIC NET if it is installed during a network transition and is to be used.
   

9. Save the job and execute it.
