The functionality for the PDF comparison is available by installing octoplant.

If you only want to backup PDF documents in your component, the PDF component type is recommended. When backing up documents that were created with different editors, the Documentation component type is recommended because it integrates also the Binary, ASCII, Excel, PDF and Word comparators.

Comparison features and limitations

  • Comparing large PDF files may reduce performance.
  • The PDF comparator analyzes content such as text, images, forms, attachments, and document metadata, but does not evaluate layout, font properties, or visual appearance.
  • Comparison of password-protected projects is supported.
