Customizing component types

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Component type editor module.
  2. In the Component type library, select the Microsoft folder.
  3. Select the Excel component type.
  4. Customize the component type under General, Compare these files, Ignore this files during the comparison, Save these files and Ignore these files.

Comparison of a component of type Excel that contains password-protected files fails

There are two ways to solve this problem:

Change the configuration of the comparator

  1. Open the UserClient.
  2. Click on the Edit component configuration button in the Edit tab of the menu bar.

  3. Click on the Comparator configuration button in the Component configuration dialog.

  4. The Comparison configuration dialog opens.

  5. Enter the password in the section Exclude lines from comparison.
  6. Activate the Exclude all non-displayable characters from entire comparison checkbox.

Create Version without Comparison

Alternatively, you can create a version without performing a comparison. To do this, click on UserClient in the menu ribbon on the Extras tab on the button Version without difference.
