Emerson PAC Machine Edition used to be called GE Proficy Machine Edition.
The Proficy Machine Edition component type and the GE Proficy Machine Edition upload type are also used with Emerson PAC Machine Edition.

PC targets and panel targets are not supported.
Requirements
- To perform uploads and comparisons, a compatible version of the editor must be installed on the same computer running the server or agent.
- Agents are recommended for uploading Emerson PAC Machine Edition. If you are using multiple versions of Emerson PAC Machine Edition or GE Proficy Machine Edition, you will need a separate upload agent for each version.
- The server or agent must be run from a user account with administrator privileges.

If the editor's working directory is not initialized automatically, start the editor manually once with the user running the agent.

Emerson uses the API for upload and comparison. Starting from version 101.0, to use octoplant with the Emerson API, you need the PAC Machine Edition ProPlus Development Suite license.
Restrictions
- Changes to diagnostic logic blocks, FAT/SAT, supplemental files of a PLC target are not recognized.
- Current values of variables are excluded during backup/version and backup/backup comparison.
