Info
Uploading with the Standard License of the editor is only possible from version 10 onward. For versions below 10, a Professional License is required.
Requirements
-
To perform uploads, the following software must be installed on the same machine where the server or an agent is running:
- RSLogix 5 (Standard and Professional Edition)
- RSLinx Classic or FactoryTalk Linx (formerly RSLinx Enterprise Edition)
-
If upgrading to FactoryTalk Linx:
- Uninstall RSLinx Classic before proceeding.
- Manually reconfigure the communication path in the Job configuration section.
- If you are using agents, ensure the services are running with administrative privileges.
-
You can review the full system requirements for RSLogix 5 on the Rockwell Automation website.
-
For uploads to work properly, the VDog MasterService, VDog UploadAgent, and VDog CompareAgent must not run under the LocalSystem account. Use an administrator account or one with administrative rights instead.
-
To ensure reliable communication, it is recommended to launch either the agent or the VDog MasterService (whichever is in use for this device) as an application, under the following conditions:
- If the RSLogix software is installed on a different machine, agents are required on that machine.
- Agents must be capable of launching and interacting directly with the RSLogix software.
- The setup requires both administrative rights and UI access.
For detailed instructions, see Starting agents and VDog MasterService as applications
