Configuring jobs for Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert
- Create a job with the Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert upload type.
-
Go to the Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert settings section.
-
If the component contains several projects, select the desired project from the dropdown menu.
- Select the protocol for communication with the device from the Access path dropdown menu.
- In the Device field, enter the IP address or the name of the device.
-
In the Application password field, enter the password with which the user can log in to the device.
Info
The Application password is optional. If used, it must also be configured in the Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert Security editor and in the component settings to ensure successful upload and comparison.
-
An exception applies when backing up an older PLC without requiring comparison. In this case, the Application password may differ from the component configuration password.
-
If not empty, the Application password always takes precedence.
To configure additional security, proceed as follows:
-
In the Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert editor, go to the Policies tab and enable the Security options with login.
-
Next, create or select a Username in the Users and User Information tabs, assign a password, and grant the necessary rights to Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert functions (via Profile(s) in the Users tab). This enables the user to perform uploads.
-
In the AdminClient, specify the same Username and Password by going to the Schneider Security Editor section in the Global settings module.
-
-
In the Connection mode dropdown menu, select whether upload and comparison should be performed as before (Programming mode (backup)) or whether only a checksum comparison should be performed (Monitoring mode (checksum)).
If you select Monitoring mode (checksum), the signatures of the controller are compared with each other. Only changes are detected and the controller is displayed as changed.
Info
No restore can be performed with the backup of a checksum comparison.
-
Optional: If you also want to save the current values, activate the Save data from PLC to file checkbox. The data is stored in a DTX file.
- Optional: If you want to archive a simulator, activate the Upload from simulator checkbox.
