Configuring jobs for Siemens Scalance Switches
- Create a job with the Switches upload type.
- Go to the Switches settings section.
- In the Device field, enter the IP address or the name of the device to be accessed by the job.
- In the User and Password fields, enter the credentials for accessing the device.
-
From the Type dropdown menu, select Scalance or Scalance (WBM), depending on the switch type.
Example:
- Scalance (WBM): Applies to Scalance S6xx and Scalance XM4xx.
- Scalance S622-2 (Firmware version 2.01): Can be saved with Scalance and Scalance (WBM).
-
If you have selected the Scalance type, configure the following settings.
-
From the Command dropdown menu, select the command that will be executed to back up the switch. By default, the system selects Auto, which automatically determines the correct command based on the switch’s model number. For example, all models between 300 and 399 use the "saveload" command for backup. In certain cases, you may need to select a different command for a specific switch, especially when different firmware versions exist for the same model. The three available options — save, saveload, and loadsave—represent the commands used to back up the configuration. You can find the appropriate command in the switch’s manual under Command Line Interface (CLI) commands.
- In the Port field, enter the outgoing port that will establish the connection to the device.
- In the TFTP Server IP Port field, enter the incoming port through which the device will receive data. The default value is 69.
-
-
In the Name of the configuration file field, enter the name of the configuration file to extract from the device. The default value is
config.cfg
. If the configuration file has a different name, update it accordingly.Info
This value is also entered in the File specifications and compare settings section.
-
Check the Upload firmware checkbox, if the firmware data is also to be backed up.
