Specific compare settings

Consider additional program parts

1. Start the UserClient.
2. Select a PCS 7 component in the Project tree.
3. Click on the Edit component configuration button on the Edit tab in the menu bar. Alternatively, you can select the PCS 7 component with the right mouse button and call up the context menu or press Alt+Return.
4. Click on the Comparison configuration button, select the project in the vdog - S7 program dialog and then click on OK.
5. Make the desired changes in the Comparison configuration dialog and confirm with OK.

Use this table to see which additional options can be taken into account in the comparison. To do this, click on the SimaticPCS tab. You now have the following selection options:

• Observe block position in CFC:
• Include CFC property Invisible
• Include CFC property Watched

Requirements for the comparison of Drive ES

To perform an S7 comparison of Drive ES, a valid and licensed installation of Microsoft Access with ODBC driver is required.

Observe IL sources (STL sources) in all clients by default

Comparison of the STL sources can be activated in the comparator configuration using a checkbox.

It is possible to specify this checkbox on the server side (server-wide) as the default value as an activated option. Proceed as follows:

1. Start the AdminClient.
2. Click on the menu item INI files.
3. The Edit ini file dialog opens.
4. Select the Classes.ini files for editing (path to the file: ..\vdServerArchive\VD$A\Configuration\Compare\Classes.ini).
5. Search for the section [SimaticS7]. If this section does not exist, create it.
6. Set the key 7169=Y.

Changes to the comparator configuration in the UserClient

The settings in the comparator configuration in the UserClient are only transferred to the Server when a new version of the component is created. To ensure that the comparison results of jobs and versions match, a new version must be created and checked in.
