Creating a new server¶
- In the octoplant server module, click on the button in the bottom right-hand corner.
-
The Add octoplant server dialog will then open.
-
Enter the data for the server in the fields of the dialog. Display name, server address and API port are mandatory fields and must be filled in to be able to create a server in the octoplant hub. If you click in the API port field, arrows will appear on the right-hand side. You can use these arrows to increase or decrease the port number by 1.
- In the Access token field, enter the access token that you have created in the AdminClient. As soon as you have clicked on Create button and created the server, the token is checked for validity. It must match the server from which it was created. The token is not displayed in plain text in the Token status column in the octoplant server module but one of the following statuses will be displayed: Valid, Invalid, Unknown and Not present if no token was specified.
- Select the Activated checkbox to be able to use the server with the octoplant hub.
- Confirm your entries with Create.
- The newly created server will be displayed in the octoplant server module.
- The Assign rights for {octoplant server name} dialog will then open.
- Select whether only administrators or all users should have access to the newly created server. If all users have access, the server will be displayed in the Permissions dialog for {username} dialog. You can then specify for each user whether they are allowed to use this server or not.
- Confirm your selection with OK.
- Select the button in the Details column of the corresponding server.
- A context menu will then open.
- Select the Check connection entry in the context menu.
Info
You can check the connection to the newly created server directly.
The result of the check is displayed in a message.
