The following optimizations were implemented in the current versiondog version:

Setup, migration and update¶

The latest changes increase the stability and efficiency of the server system update and migration process:

To increase the system security, from version 9.10.0 onwards the gateway is only tested and approved for use on Windows 10 and newer operating systems.

We recommend that you only use operating systems that are still actively maintained. However, if you wish to continue using the gateway on older operating systems (e.g. Windows 2000, Windows NT), a legacy gateway version is available for download on our portal.

Important note: We do not provide any security guarantees for this legacy version. Furthermore, we will not update this version.

We are continuously improving the functionality and range of supported devices and editors:

Removed the Acronis Upload Tool from the standard setup. The tool is still available as separate EXE file in the AMDT download portal if needed.
Improved the ASCII and JSON compares
AVEVA System Platform: Corrected text error in the job configuration interface
Fixed the BECKHOFF TwinCAT v3 compare error to eliminate false positives
Improved the FTP upload to avoid errors
Changed the Legato interface to use a uniform file format
Fixed the error when comparing Lenze projects
Improved the Omron CX-Programmer upload to reduce errors when going offline
Fixed the error when handling temporary files during Omron Sysmac Studio upload
Fixed the error when comparing RSLogix 5000 projects
Siemens TIA Portal: Fixed the certificate issue with checksum compare

Service improvements for system administrators to manage their users more effectively and intuitively:

Implemented multi LDAP and OIDC configuration and ability to connect several Active Directories

For simpler and more secure handling of and access to information, we have improved the user interface:

Published a new version of the online help with improved GUI
Improved the error messages in log-in dialog to support root cause analysis
Improved the error messages during server synchronization to support root cause analysis
Fixed various translation errors in the GUI
Fixed the bug regarding missing job events in the ReportClient

A stable and efficient software is vital and will be improved by these adjustments:

Updated PostgreSQL database to version 15.8 to fix vulnerability CVE-2024-7348 and to fix issue leading to occasional memory leaks
Improved data handling to stabilize the upload process using an agent
Updated various 3rd party libraries
Improved the VDog MasterService to avoid memory leaks
Improved the Check-In process when the client system unexpectedly shuts down or the network connection is lost
Limited the number of external upload agents to 100 to prevent system overloads
Improved the internal program processes to increase general system security
Fixed internal process communication to avoid unnecessary PostgreSQL database connections
Fixed various internal process communication issues which caused occasional server crashes
