What's new in versiondog 9.5.5 (November 2022)¶

The following table shows the optimizations made in the current versiondog version.

Setup, migration and update¶

Please note: This versiondog version contains updates to the standard component types. If you have made changes to the component types, these will be overwritten by the installation of versiondog 9.5.5.

The latest changes increase the stability and efficiency of the update / migration of the server system.

Extension of the setup to include the output of further information if the corresponding access rights to the (remote) server archive are not assigned.

Device integration and versioning¶

We are continuously improving the functionality and range of supported devices / editors and have now integrated the following editors into:
RSLogix 5000: Optimization of the upload so that an upload of the controllers is carried out more reliably with different access paths.
Siemens TIA Portal: Optimization of the comparison so that redundant systems are compared more reliably after an upload.

User management¶

It is important for administrators to be able to manage their users efficiently and intuitively. This service has now been improved.
Image Service: Adjustment of the upload class so that the rollover in the target directory is always carried out correctly after a backup has been performed.
OAuth2-RefreshTokens: To enable a reconnect after a longer connection loss, the lifetime of the tokens has been increased.

Usability/Interface¶

We have adapted the interface for easier and more secure handling and access to information.
Optimization of the email options so that warnings and error messages from the server system can also be sent to stored groups and their members.
Fixed an error in the web server when sorting (by "Job name" and "Upload type") in the job list.

System performance/stability¶

A stable and efficient software is essential for us and is improved by the following adjustments:
FTP-Upload: bug fix, so that data is backed up correctly and no "empty" files are created in the backup directory (occurred in exceptional cases).
Optimization of the signing process of our setup, so that false positives of the virus scanner are avoided. File affected so far: "7za.exe"
Database server load reduced to improve the performance of the factory floor status.
Parallel server behavior adjusted so that the timeouts of the background processes are better coordinated during the Check-Out of components.
Optimization of process handling to avoid high memory usage on the server system, which has occurred in exceptional cases in the past.

Other¶

To improve your user experience, we have also made changes in other areas.
We update used libraries with each release as soon as the current versions are stably available.
