What's new in versiondog 9.5.4 (September 2022)

The following table shows the optimizations made in the current versiondog version.

Setup, migration and update

The latest changes increase the stability and efficiency of the update / migration of the server system.

  • Information about the migration process (during the server update) is no longer recorded in the file migration_result.txt, but in a separate log file: \vdServerArchive\VD$A\Logs\Debug\VdogMigration.log
  • Fixed occasional migration problems in the Component.fdb database area
  • If you go between the installation options (server installation, server + client, etc.) in the setup, this caused the setup to behave incorrectly. This has been fixed.
  • During the setup, the rights to the program directory and the archive are now assigned directly.

Device integration and versioning

We are continuously improving the functionality and range of supported devices / editors and have now integrated the following editor:

  • Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert V15.1

User management

It is important for administrators to be able to manage their users efficiently and intuitively. This service has now been improved.

  • Bug fix in the area of User management: blocking in case of user inactivity can be lifted correctly.

Usability/Interface

We have adapted the interface for easier and more secure handling and access to information.

  • Adaptation of the display in the System dashboard so that there is a clear distinction between individual server and parallel server.
  • Adjusted truncated texts in the event log of the server system so that all information is displayed
  • Adjusted texts in the Setup so that they are displayed correctly
  • Introduction of a central upload page for the following topics:
    • Usage information of the server system
    • Asset information of the stored components
  • Adjustment in the area of displayed information in the client that can be sent by administrators. This prevents links from being called directly and thus malicious code from being executed. Instead, links can now be copied and viewed before execution.

Databases

To ensure that you can continue to use your system efficiently and easily, we have optimized communication with the underlying database in the background.

  • Adjustments in the area of internal database communication

System performance/stability

Stable and efficient software is the be-all and end-all for us and is improved by the following adjustments:

  • Stability of the BackupClient improved, so that a language change is possible without any problems.
  • Optimization of the connection between the server system and Claroty, so that the server system is not blocked.

Miscellaneous

We have also made adjustments in other areas to improve your user experience.

  • Optimized synchronization between BackupClient and the server system so that the serial numbers of the license are transferred correctly.
  • Adaptation of the links to the online help so that they refer to my.auvesy-mdt.com.
  • Adaptation of the communication between client and server system (Scripting area) so that Man-in-the-middle attacks are made more difficult
  • Adaptation of the file names for detailed log files so that the ".exe" suffix is no longer present
