Uninstalling a server
During uninstallation, an installed versiondog server is completely removed from the system. The uninstallation is carried out using the Setup.exe
file supplied in the versiondog software package.

When uninstalling the server, only the server applications are uninstalled. The client applications are uninstalled in a separate step.

The server archive, which contains projects, backups, and settings, will not be deleted during the uninstallation process.
Prerequisites
- The versiondog setup file is accessible.
- The user performing the uninstallation or the user account through which the uninstallation is performed has administrative rights.
- Executing files must be permitted on the drive on which the server archive is located. Any existing security policies that prevent the execution of files must be deactivated.
Procedure
- Execute the file
Setup.exe
on the computer with the server to be uninstalled as as administrator. - In the installation wizard that opens, select a language version. English and German are currently available.
- On the welcome page of the installation wizard, select Next. All currently active versiondog processes are displayed.
- Terminate the displayed VDog MasterService and PostgreSQL Server subprocesses with Next. If the processes cannot be stopped using the installation wizard, stop them in the Task Manager.

Select the option Uninstall versiondog applications and select Next.

Select Uninstall server applications and select Next.

The versiondog server is uninstalled. A note is displayed stating that the archives were not deleted (archives are never deleted during uninstallation).
- Confirm the displayed note with OK.
- After successful uninstallation, select Finish to close the wizard.
