Executing the VDogParallelServerUtil.exe application via the command line

Data loss risk when running VDogParallelServerUtil.exe

Running VDogParallelServerUtil.exe on server A (connected to server B) will overwrite server B, deleting its archive and remote share. This data cannot be restored in case of errors. Always create a backup of server B before running this application.

Carry out the following steps on server A:

  1. Run the command line as administrator.
  2. Enter the following in the command line:

    {Drive}:\program files\vdogServer\VDogParallelServerUtil.exe /at:s /rd:{Fully qualified path to the directory}
    `vdServerArchive/account:{Username}/domain:{domain name(optional)} /password:{password}`

    Replace the placeholders with data from your server.

    For 64-bit systems, the path to the Program files directory in which the versiondog server is located may need to be adjusted.

  3. Press the Enter key in the command line.

  4. If the application VDogParallelServerUtil.exe was executed successfully, restart the VDog MasterService on server B.
