Defining file operations

Under Define actions for files area, you can specify whether the contents of archives should be unpacked before a comparison of the selected component type. This may be necessary if project files are available in archives.

1. Click on a cell and enter the desired value in the Specification column.

   • Use the placeholder _ for file types (e.g., _.txt).
   • File names can be specified directly (e.g., info.txt).
   • Use _ as a wildcard for multiple characters and ? for a single character in file names (e.g., _info_???.txt).

2. Dropdown menus are activated in the Action, Condition and Subdirectories columns.

3. The only possible value Extract is already preselected in the Action dropdown menu.
4. In the Condition dropdown menu, select whether files of this type should always be extracted before a comparison or only for comparison between backups, between server version and backup or between two versions.
5. In the Subdirectories dropdown menu, select whether existing subdirectories should also be unpacked.
