Receiving Check-In and Check-Out information by email

When customizing or creating a new component type, you can set up that selected Users or groups receive an email when a component of the corresponding component type is checked in or checked out.

  1. Select the desired component type in the Component type library or create a new one.
  2. In the General area, activate the Component type specific email on Check-In / Check-Out checkbox.
  3. Click on the Settings button to make further settings.
  4. The Mail settings on Check-In / Check-Out dialog opens.

  5. In the Send mail on area, select whether the email should be sent on Check-In and/or Check-Out.

  6. If you have selected Check-Out, a dropdown menu is also activated in which you can specify whether the email should always be sent when a component of this component type is checked out, or only when this component is currently blocked or in process.
  7. in the Groups area, select the user/user group to whom the email is to be sent by selecting the desired checkboxes.
  8. Enter the addresses of email recipients who are not versiondog users in the field Additional email addresses. You can enter multiple email addresses separated by commas.
  9. Confirm your entries with OK.

Alternatively, you can specify for individual components that emails are sent for Check-In or Check-Out. If the settings for the component differ from those for the corresponding component type, the component-specific properties apply.
