Personalize your 10 Master data¶

You do not have to keep the 10 predefined master data names for your versiondog components. However, these changes have a global effect!

versiondog offers several ways to perform a comparison. Using the ASCII component type as an example, we compare versions, create jobs and compare backups to illustrate the possibilities of the comparator configuration.

Automatic backup jobs (also called upload jobs or upload and compare jobs) are a central block of the set-and-forget strategy for data management with versiondog.

Set this option in the job configuration¶

This allows you to create a version directly after an upload job. You must activate this option in the AdminClient of versiondog.

Send email notifications for job results (from versiondog 8.5)¶

Send automatic emails to versiondog users or external employees to inform them about the results of backup and comparison jobs. From version 8.5, this function is activated in the Jobs module.

Management of user rights in versiondog¶

Assign read, write and delete rights for different users and groups for specific device types, folders or even per component. Connection to the Windows Active Directory is possible.
