LibraryManagement is an versiondog system client that is currently available for Siemens S7, Siemens TIA Portal and RSLogix 5000.

In LibraryManagement, you can determine and display matches and differences between the blocks installed in the project and their templates from the standard library. The integration of the projects and the standard libraries takes place as usual in the UserClient.

To eliminate any inconsistencies, you must change the project or library in the corresponding editor. By creating a new version of the updated project, you can use from LibraryManagement to determine whether the inconsistencies between the project and library have been resolved.

Application scenarios

Identification of project versions

When configuring a system, it is determined that a standard library block has been extended. LibraryManagement can be used to determine which version of the standard library block has been used in which projects. Based on this data, further measures can be planned, e.g. the update of the affected projects.

Ensure that the PLC programs are the same

In a production plant, there is a sub-process that has been set up redundantly several times in production. The sub-process is each controlled by a controller, for example a SIMATIC S7. The programs of the controllers must be identical (except for the network address). LibraryManagement can be used to ensure that the programs are identical at module level. In the event of a program update, LibraryManagement can also be used to monitor the progress of the rollout.

Checking the project planning of service providers

LibraryManagement enables a client to check during the acceptance of a new system whether the specified standard library blocks were used during project planning as agreed. Any changes made by the service provider can be identified immediately. Measures can then be taken to ensure consistency.
