Configuring jobs for Cognex In-Sight SDK

Prerequisites

To ensure that differences are not displayed each time the job is executed, Cognex In-Sight jobs (files) must first be saved by the corresponding image processing sensor.

To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Load the Cognex In-Sight job (file) onto the sensor.
  2. In the System menu, select Save.

  3. In the Save dialog, select the sensors to be saved.

  4. The files of the selected sensors are now backed up. Copy the files to the component and check in the new version.

Procedure

  1. Crate a job with the Cognex Sensors upload type.
  2. Go to the Cognex Sensors settings section:
  3. From the Type dropdown menu, select the In-Sight (SDK) device class.
  4. Enter the IP address or the name of the device in the Device field.
  5. In the User and Password fields, enter the credentials for the user account used to access the device.
  6. In the Save current job as field, enter a file name.
  7. In the Exclude files/directories field, you can specify files or directories to be excluded from the job configuration. Use a semicolon (;) to separate multiple entries. The characters (*) and (?) can be used as wildcards.

The backup created is identical to the project created by Cognex In-Sight. The result is suitable for a detailed comparison, further processing and disaster recovery.
