Configuring comparisons

In Sick projects, there are variables that are always different. You must exclude these variables from the comparison in order to obtain an equal version and backup. A comparator configuration has been developed for this purpose, which you can dynamically adapt to the circumstances using a * wildcard (free text field).

Example: The variables @QuickstartInventoryVar/Tags/0/EPC/13, @QuickstartInventoryVar/Tags/0/EPC/14 and @QuickstartInventoryVar/Tags/0/EPC/15 are excluded from the comparison by entering @QuickstartInventoryVar* in the Comparator configuration in the UserClient.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the UserClient.
  2. Select the component you want to customize.
  3. Select the Edit tab in the menu bar or Edit component configuration in the context menu (right mouse button).
  4. Click on the Comparator configuration button. The Comparison configuration dialog opens.
  5. If there are several projects in a component, select the corresponding project from the dropdown menu.

  6. Enter @QuickstartInventoryVar* under Exclude lines from comparison and click on OK.
