Info

Depending on the job configuration, the compensation data may be contained in the file NC.ARC. The compensation data is located in the files AX_QEC.INI, AX_EEC.INI and NC_CEC.INI. Even if NC.ARC, DP.ARC, CC.ARC and PLCSDB.ARC should be separated at file level, they are always logically assigned to NC.ARCin the comparison display.

The PLC's serial commissioning file (SIBN) is created based on the job configuration, but is not taken into account in a comparison. To perform a comparison of the SIBN file, create an S7 component and create a job for it.

Procedure

  1. Create a job with the Sinumerik840D upload type.
  2. Go to the SINUMERIK 840D settings section.

  3. From the Project dropdown menu, select the NC.ARC archive that the job will back up.

  4. From the Device type dropdown menu, select the Solution line value.

  5. The Access path details section changes according to the selected access path.

The supported access paths are described on the Supported connection paths page.

  6. Go to the Backup section.

    1. Select the Create SIBN file for PLC checkbox to back up the PLC data in the SIBN archive.
    2. Select the With compensation data checkbox, if you also want to back it up.

      Info

We recommend that you always back up the compensation data together with the NC data. If there is collision of model data on the memory card of the controller, this should also be backed up together with the NC data.

    3. In the Contents of the backup dropdown menu, you have three options to choose from for backing up the online and offline data.

      • Online data only: Only data from the controller is backed up.

        Info

If the SINUMERIK controller accesses files, no backup is created.

      • Merge online and offline data: If the controller accesses files, this data is copied from the version (offline data) to the backup. The backup does not consist 100% of data from the controller.

      • Merge if conditions are not met: If the Create backup only if the following conditions are met checkbox is set and the conditions selected below it are not met, the data from the version (offline data) is copied to the backup.
    4. The Create backup only if the following conditions are met checkbox is activated in advance and fulfills two conditions.

      • Condition 1: All channels in reset: If not all channels are in reset on the controller, the job issues the error message that not all channels are in reset.
      • Condition 2: Tool in spindle: Here you have the choice between the No tool in spindle, Tool in spindle allowed if alarm is suppressed and Ignore tool in spindle options.
  7. Go to the Advanced section.
