Checksum comparison
By using the upload variant Checksum compare only, the individual checksums of the blocks are compared. Changes to the code of the blocks are recognized and the block is displayed as "changed". A detailed view of the changes is not possible.

No backup is generated. This means that you cannot perform a detailed comparison or restore. The actual values cannot be saved or compared.
All controllers from the project are always compared.
Procedure
- Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
- Select your TIA Portal component in the Project tree.
- Click on the Create button in the ribbon or drag and drop the component into the Jobs area.
- Check whether the upload type TIA Portal is displayed in the Job configuration area.
- Configure the General, Notification, Upload and compare and Create a version automatically after job run sections. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are only displayed if the required settings have been made. If you are working with Agents and the versiondog server and the TIA Portal software are not installed on the same computer, they must be configured using the communication parameters of the project. The agents must be installed in advance.

Under TIA Portal settings, select the upload variant Checksum compare only.
- Select the desired project in the Project drop-down list.
- Select a CPU of the project in the Device drop-down list.
- The interface is determined automatically. To enter it manually anyway, activate the checkbox Enter interfaces manually.

As of TIA Portal V15.1, the upload and comparison is also possible for password-protected projects. Enter the login information for the password-protected project in the section Advanced.

If the project contains a CPU password, an error message is displayed, since no CPU password can be transferred in the checksum comparison job.

If this occurs, our certificate has to be installed to the trusted root certificates.

Open the properties of any EXE in the versiondog installation folder (for example
{Installation directory}\vdogServer\vdog_pkg\vdog_export_tia\VDogTiaProjectExport17.exe
) -
Select the Digital signatures tab.
- Select the certificate from the Signature List.
- Select the Details button.
- Select the View Certificate button.
- Finally, select the Install Certificate... button.
- Complete the Certificate Import Wizard, accepting the default settings.
