Creating COPA-DATA zenon project structures

zenon projects can be interdependent. For example, the Global project makes its content available to all projects in the workspace. The integration projects and sub-projects can share elements and exchange data in runtime.

To make the relationships between zenon projects visible, transfer the project structure from the zenon editor as a folder structure in versiondog.

Advantages of the folder structure

  • Provides an overview and easier handling of the project structure, e.g. for an entire workspace.
  • Other component types can be saved and logically assigned (e.g. documentation of machines).

Procedure

  1. Open the AdminClient.
  2. Go to Global settings > Components and select Allow mixed directory structures (project in project). This setting allows you to create additional subfolders within folders that already contain components.

Tip for setting up the folder structure

To illustrate the relationships between project types, the following folder structure arrangement in versiondog is recommended:

Path: ..\global project\{standard dependencies}\{integration projects}\{dependent subprojects}
